Where you depart from, and what you see

It is worth saying plainly, as few do: central Paris cannot be overflown. The city is classed as restricted airspace, and no tourist flight is permitted there at low altitude. Departures are from the Paris–Issy-les-Moulineaux heliport, the only official site at the edge of the city, or from a nearby aerodrome depending on the option chosen. The flight then follows the authorised corridors towards the west of the region: the château of Versailles and its grounds, La Défense, the Chevreuse valley, the bends of the Seine, Marly-le-Roi, Saint-Cloud and Meudon. The great Paris landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, remain visible from the aircraft, at the distance the regulations require. The view is real and open — it is simply not overhead.

Arranging your flight

A helicopter flight is prepared. Capacity depends on the aircraft, generally four to six passengers, and only twin-engine aircraft are permitted at the Paris heliport. The duration, the route and any stopover vary with the option: we set them out before confirming, without approximation. Weather remains decisive a flight may be moved or postponed for safety reasons, and we then arrange a new date. We recommend booking several days ahead, more in high season. Around the flight, we take charge of what falls within our work: your car transfer from your hotel or home, your welcome at the departure point, and the coordination with the rest of your day.

What we do and do not do

Our service covers the selection of the operator, the booking of the aircraft, your ground transfer, your welcome at departure and the coordination of the whole. We do not operate helicopters and do not fly them: the flight is the domain of licensed operators, subject to their own permissions and to weather conditions. We therefore never promise a flight whose conditions do not depend on us — but we tell you precisely what is possible, and we take care of everything else.

Frequently asked questions

Can you fly over Paris by helicopter ?

No. Central Paris is restricted airspace: no tourist flight is permitted there at low altitude. Flights go around the city along regulated corridors, from which the landmarks remain visible.

What exactly do you see during the flight ?

The château of Versailles and its grounds, La Défense, the Chevreuse valley, the bends of the Seine and the western Paris area. The Eiffel Tower and the great Paris landmarks are visible at a regulatory distance.

Where do you depart from ?

From the Paris–Issy-les-Moulineaux heliport, or a nearby aerodrome depending on the option. We arrange your transfer to the departure point.

How many passengers can fly ?

Generally four to six depending on the aircraft. For a larger group, we arrange several rotations.

What does it cost ?

It depends on the option, the duration, the aircraft and the number of passengers. It is given at the quote stage and confirmed before booking.

What happens in poor weather ?

The flight is postponed for safety reasons. We arrange a new date with you, with nothing to do on your part.
